I lurk a LOT and almost never post but this is such a great idea I actually logged in. I hope you regulars won't mind a newbie....

I have two to share:

1) Eldest DD is home doing remote learning since college was cancelled for the rest of the semester. This is her sophomore year. She went off for freshman year and stayed on campus the first summer to do research. This was a wonderful opportunity for her but I missed her a ton because I'd expected to have her home at least that one summer. So now I get to have her home for an extended period and I love it (though the weather isn't quite as nice!).

2) Middle DD has finally received all of her college decisions. Accepted to all the schools she applied to, and some darn good financial packages, to boot! Now she needs to decide what to do as she's been delaying making a decision -- didn't want to get her heart set on anything in case they didn't come through. So far she has eliminated one (so we're down to four, but it's progress!).

Looking forward to reading others' good news!!

Even though I am working from home during this event, I do have extra time on my hands and so far that has allowed me to:

Clean out the freezer
Clean out the pantry
Make a huge dent in the truly mountain-sized pile of dirty laundry
Learn how to make 4 ingredient no-knead bread ready in 2 hours
and
watch a number of SHTF prepper You Tubes (not a prepper personally, but some good ideas on some of these)

Who knows what progress I might see with more time.

What a great idea Mindy! I love Pollyanna!

Since DH and I are both working at home, I am glad that we can take a walk at lunch time together.

Where we are we go out daily for exercise. Walks, mail pickup, shopping as needed. We see other people as well.

The positive I see is that people are heeding the social distancing recommendations. People are interactive, friendly. We talk to strangers in the Village (at a distance). We have a thread in the local nextdoor.com board about all of this.

Sharing something like this together is bringing out the best in many people.

Cheers.

With WDW shut down we get to spend more time with our daughter.

Shelter in place order means empty roads and great bicycling.

Welcome from the shadows! I also lurk more than I post, which is little scary... And congratulations to your daughters!

I agree with everyone who has commented on what a great idea this thread was. Now let’s all thank Carolyn! It was her brainchild, after all. I’m just a bigger busybody.

Default Thank you

I just want to give a heartfelt thank you to all healthcare workers and service workers that are risking their health for all of us. I appreciate all they are doing.
