Good to know. Currently there is a special at Aulani but that seems to be a trend whenever I select Special Offers on the main Disney website.

I donít think Disney foresaw the long lasting economic problems in Japan. Without those, Aulani would have been sold out long since.

not at a Kiosk (they state you have to speak to a sales rep when I asked specific questions) but we bought first contract direct at AKL Kidani (only have stayed at Jambo and we love the value studios). We don't regret the direct purchase and perks with 100 points but they were selling VGF and AKL at the same time. I chose AKL since I am a veterinarian and animal person.
NOWHERE did they discuss availability of rooms, sizes, numbers and the like. We got lucky with more studio availability at AKL as it was. Whew!

The number of people that will visit Aulani exclusively has to be extremely small. For everyone else, those dues and that being your only home resort advantage... buying any other resort would be more worthwhile.
We bought Aulani, because it was a good choice for us. We planned on going every 2 years and my wife often has to schedule her vacation more than 7 months in advance or risk not getting the time we wanted. For this reason the Aulani home resort advantage was important to us. When we bought Aulani I traveled a lot for work, so with the airline points the flight cost was not an issue. I recently changed to a position where I do not travel so no more airline points. Our upcoming trip was the first time I had to buy tickets, 4 tickets hurt a little.

Although, Aulani may not make sense for many folks, it works for us.

For practical purposes they may as well just have one!
And DVC guides/cast members should be forbidden from even mentioning them.

Maybe even leave them off the point charts. Like an exclusive fine-dining item, you have to know to ask for them.

Let's get back to the days of DVC as the best kept secret. Don't publish anything. Just let the members figure out on their own, including all resale restrictions!
