Default DVC tour at Aulani

So, I was at Aulani this past week and ended up talking with a guide one morning on our way out to the parking deck. I signed up for a DVC meeting for later that afternoon (Thursday, March 28), assuming I would hear more info about Riviera since it had just started selling.

While there was info on Riviera, they were really highlighting any of the direct sale resorts. We were all escorted up to a Grand Villa on the 10th floor. There was a short video we all watched on Riviera and a short info and video on SW:GE. Afterwards, we were all given a DVC hat for our time and allowed to tour the Grand Villa - which was ah-mazing!!

Here's some info I took from the meeting:

- Sales from Riviera have started and they reviewed incentives (sorry, I don't have details...didn't get a pic of the incentives on the video). But there is a $500 resort credit if you purchase while staying at a resort...at least at Aulani.

- Concerning SW:GE, there was mention of requiring a "pass" to enter SW:GE which would be included if you were staying on property. Otherwise there was reference to paying for it....

- Aulani incentives made the sale ~10% off of the actual retail direct pricing.

- Direct pricing will be increasing in June, and CCV was directly mentioned as going up to $210/point

I understand why Aulani isn't sold out....but it always seems busy and booked. Lots of people are using their other points to stay there! My apologies for the vagueness....just thought I'd share the info....

Thanks for the info. We're headed there in May. Will try to sign up for the tour.

Sounds like a nice time, Pam. Definitely worthwhile to get to see the grand villa.

Interesting that they pushed any sale. Nice view from the GV.

They weren't 'pushing' anything, per se'. As I mentioned, just 'highlighting' CCV, Aulani and RR and their current incentives.

Thanks for the input. I'm wondering if they keep that GV always open for tours or just when it's unoccupied. Beautiful view!!!
Out of curiosity, how long was the flight from Michigan to get there? We've been considering getting to Alunai, but not sure if I could handle the long flight.

Sorry, I got that from what you said. It was just curious to me - when we toured and bought in 2015, if you asked about sold-out resorts, the guides would shut you down very quickly. So it is interesting to me that they are even talking about them.

Is the ocean view worth having, if you had the points to burn?
