So kind of you to think of that first.
I definitely will. We tried calling again yesterday and the call goes thru, but no one answers and there is no opportunity to leave a message. I will let you know what we find out today.

I have boarding passes in hand, heading out tomorrow morning for the family vacation.

I think we have it taken care of. We heard back from Disney today and the lady was going to see if anyone at the hotel needed them, and if not, she is going to drop them off at the Red Cross on her way home. I would have probably preferred a shelter, but this conversation was with my husband and Disney, so I didn't have any input.

Just wanted you to have an update on the status.

Oh good! I am glad they are going to a place that can use them! What a kind CM you found to help out even when they didn't have to! I understand wishing for a shelter, but at least they are going to get some use

That was very nice of you and the CM. Someone will be very appreciative. I have several cousins in the area. Nobody had serious damage, just trees, debris, pool covers, etc, but no house damage. However, a couple of them are still without power, as are many people in the area. Orlando is still very much in need and not back to normal..

I will add, one cousin has lived there since the early 70s and been through many, many hurricanes, and she said this one was the scariest, due to constant tornado warnings all night long. She was really worried with this one. I 'm thankful it was not worse.

I know a lot of Orlando people felt the same. The dirty side of the storm was *really* dirty this time around. If you ask my more western friends who have lived in hurricane areas they felt it was sorta 'normal' for lack of better word.

I said to my friends in Orlando that as a midwesterner (who has been through hurricanes and such) the tornados scare me far more! It sure wasn't fun for anyone but those get to me.

I've heard from a loved one near Ft. Myers. Miraculously they have no real damage and mostly just landscaping. No evidence of flooding. They are feeling quite grateful today as so many are worse off in their area.

Just as an FYI, especially for people going down soon, the CMs are still experiencing life difficulties from this storm. Some not too bad, but others may have messed a messed up roof, trash all over their yard, a crazy drive home dodging trees, kids out of school creating child care problems, and MANY have no power. I talked to one CM Tuesday morning who said he was told he may be without power for 2 weeks. I've been without power for days in the post hurry cane heat and humidity. It's pretty miserable. If anyone comes across a CM who is on the grumpy side, please be understanding, they may be having a hard time right now. Not making their problems with easier I'm sure is spending all day listening to guests complain about their inconveniences which pale in comparison. One CM initially just stared at me in shock for a minute when I asked how she was doing post hurricane and how her family and home fared. I think I was the first guest who bothered to inquire, though many had told her all about their problems of being stuck in a resort and not even being able to use the pool. Turns out she had a really rough time.
