I guess this could just be me with the excitement of trying to become a first time owner but in the long run knowing you have a spot in Disney for most likely the rest of our lives seems like it would be a amazing feeling.

Take all the complaining with a grain of salt. Weíve all owned for a few years, so weíre not happy with all the changes in such a short amount of time. Some have owned for decades and still love it. Others are ďdisenchantedĒ. Donít let the complaining we all do lessen your excitement. However, the ROFR waiting game is BRUTAL!!! Good luck! I love BLT! Itís one of my home resorts. Actually, I still love all my home resorts and am still glad I bought DVC.

Nothing is making me think twice. The only part killing us is the waiting game and finding out they are buying back a lot of Bay lakes now.

Just wondering if they target low points. I mean heck Disney let my little 50 point contract slide pleaseeeee!

What worries me is what Disney will do next. I am still reeling from the point reallocation, higher dues and resale restrictions, but I love my WDW vacations.

However, my tolerance is wearing thin. We had been on the brink of adding another 250 points. We wonít now.

Someone at Disney will think of an additional way to wring more money from DVC and they will implement it. Will it be more ways to kill the resale market or will it be added fees or more point reallocation? Or something even more creative?

Killing the goose will result in no more golden eggs.

I guess I'm confused by this. Disney are a for-profit company whose purpose is to make money. They provide a product with given rules and benefits. These work for some and not for others. I'm not sure what the "care about their members" is all about. They "care" about providing a benefit that people will pay for. Clearly, people will.

I see the same comments about the airline loyalty programs where people comment that the airline no longer "cares" about them or is "loyal" to them.

They, and Disney, never did. And they never will. Not sure why anyone would expect anything different.

It's a simple business transaction - for them and for you. Caring isn't, and was never, involved.

Cheers.

Well, I've done plumbing, electrical and bathroom fixtures, so I could help if adopted. Don't let the fact that I'm a fair bit older than you be a deterrent.

Oh, you'd likely have to adopt mrs. brp as well. Of course, then we'd both be your kids...and married to each other. May need to rethink this...

Cheers.

I'm mostly concerned about the 2020 point reallocation. They have exploited the lock-off premium and have effectively increased the prices of studios and 1BRs. These increases were NOT offset by reducing other rooms. That is what I find concerning. And after further research, if studios and 1BRs are all part of a 2BR lock-off, then there is absolutely ZERO checks in the system to keep DVC from reallocating those studios and 1BRs to any amount they desire. They could literally make them 1 zillion points a night and there isn't anything anyone could do about it.
