Good article. We were there last year before the storms and can relate to some of the locations mentioned. Our friends just came back from their annual 3 weeks in St John. They noticed less residents and services, meaning many relocated elsewhere. But these friends say itís a great time to visit a beautiful island. Not only were the beaches and restaurants empty but the businesses cater to visitors more now than even before.

I have been keeping up on the slow rebuild of the Virgin Islands. We were suppose to be going in July of this year, but the Westin Resort took so much damage that it will not reopen until Jan 2019. Caneel Bay Resort, the ohter large resort on St john was pretty much destroyed.....and has no timeline on reopening or if it will ever reopen.

I can not wait to go back to my favorite island in the world! Only 480 more days until we go back!!!!!

Same is true of Puerto Rico. Which truly means people need to travel to these islands if they want to survive the hurricane completely. So many have relocated and closed down and not enough tourism is coming in to help.
