So sorry for your loss. Glad Disney was able to make a very difficult time a bit more pleasant.

I'm so very sorry for you loss. Even when you know it's coming, with hospice and all, it's still so very hard. I'm also so sorry for the pain/ordeal you had at Disney. That's wonderful tho to hear such positive things about how well Disney came through for you. Thank you for sharing.

First, my condolences on you loss. I lost my mom in April and I know the feeling but also have my memories of joy.

And it is this type of response by Disney that makes me happy with my relationship with the company. I question it now and then but that was very good customer service.

WOW, this was amazing. First it was good you went away. Caregiving is exhausting, I am taking care of my 97 year old and believe me, I know.!!

the most wonderful thing is that you did all you could for her and that will give you a clean conscience and free of guilt!

Disney was amazing, we hope you get better and better as the time goes.

Default Thank you...

Thank you all for your kind words - it really means a great deal to me!

To those of you who are also caregivers - it truly is exhausting (and sometimes exasperating), but now that it is behind me I am grateful I had the opportunity to honor my mom in this way. My husband supported me in quitting my job to care for her these past 2 years and he would spend most Sunday afternoons with her so I could have a break.

Mom was an amazing lady. I had 3 brothers who had Muscular Dystrophy and she cared for each of them till the end, and did the same for my dad when he got sick. She had the craziest sense of humor and continued to keep us laughing even when she was so sick. While I am grateful she is out of pain, I do miss her!

I am following the advice some of you gave and am not going back to work right away. I am trying to catch up on my house, and going up to Denver to see the grandkids. We got a new granddaughter at Christmas and I am anxious to make up for lost time with her.

We are also planning a Disney trip with our son and his family in November. While our granddaughter will only be 10 months, our grandson just turned 5 and we can't wait to properly introduce them and our daughter-in-law to Disney.

Thanks again to all of you for your kindness - Mouseowners really are the best!
