It's a very odd feeling to have experienced the conclusion of my 42 year journey with this triple trilogy. And doing RotR last week makes the whole thing even a bit more surreal.

I liked it. They earned it mostly. Fairly predictable and safe, but very enjoyable and satisfying.

Just got back and was gonna start this thread, but here it is.

It was good. Not great, but good. As noted, quite predictable with a few twists. Certainly worth seeing.

I saw Episode IV in 1977 on the second day it was out. There was no hype as yet, no line. But I was a sci fi geek. Blew me away.

Now, as said above, my 42-year Star Wars journey ends. Certainly nowhere near the impact or feel of the original. Derivative. Formulaic. Not something to blow one away as the first one did.

But nice.

Cheers.

I have read/heard that the movie panders to the fans, which is why critics have given it such a low score. That said, fans overall should be pleased with the movie since it was made to appeal to them....not the critics.

Glad to see these comments. We're going this afternoon after a dentist appt. Hoping for a nice conclusion to an almost 42 (for me, I saw it just before it left the theater in our small town when I was a toddler - and yes I remembered some when I saw it again years later) long love.

I saw it last night. My DS11 LOVED it. I thought it was good to ok. Tons of action. a few loose ends not explained. But it does have closure at least. And as I said, lots of fight scenes and lots of action.

I've been a fan for 42 years and I don't read critic reviews (didn't even know what they had said). As a fan, it was just OK and left wanting. I think "pandered" is the right word. "Respected" is preferred.

Cheers.
