Good luck and let us know how it goes.

We just returned. The $100 hold remains and then as I went over the $100 there are additional holds. I assume it takes a few days for accounting to sort out and convert to actual charges. Looks to me like my card never had more than $100 more than I was purchasing at any given point. Now that Iím home the pending actual charges are lumped into one big pending charge instead of tons of individual pending plus the $100. I donít think there was any double holds. Sometimes there were a few $100 exact amounts on hold but the $100 hold would turn to actual purchase amounts of $100+.

I wish they would just let me put a gift card on the account instead of my credit card. Problem solved.

Sounds like this worked exactly as expected and, if one never checked until the end, the various bookkeeping maneuvers would have been invisible. Good to know.

Cheers.

Yes. There was never any major holds on my account and I felt the process was more than fair given the amounts we were placing on our magic bands. I have a habit of checking every morning and didn’t see anything alarming.

To add- I didn’t use a chase visa. Just my local credit union cc. I notified them of travel dates and had no issues with anything being denied for possible fraud. I try to make sure the cc has a zero balance the day I leave on a vacation to make it simpler to track spending.

Just did on line check in, $100 charge on CC and were not even there yet.

That's not an appropriate thing to do. When do you arrive?

It's likely an automatic hold charge to prove to Disney that the card is valid. It shouldn't go through until you've actually charged something for at least that amount. If the bad guys would stop doing their thing, we would all have much easier lives, but that's not gonna happen so companies/people have to protect themselves.

I remember during a stay at the Poly about 15 years ago the police and several Disney suits were standing with a young couple in the third floor seating area of the Hawaii Building concierge level. As DH, DD and DS walked through to go to breakfast, we heard the police saying, "You've been here for a month. Stayed at several deluxe resorts and haven't paid a penny. You'll be escorted off property and will never be allowed on any Disney property again. Understood?"

It was pretty creepy!

Arrival tonight, online check in last night. And have gift cards to pay for everything so in the end there wont be a bill.
