I wondered about April 1 when I first saw the notice.

Mostly I’m surprised RTT lasted this long. I’m with many others appreciating it, but can only imagine the annoyance factor.

I think my family is done renting points. I do not miss the stress of planning; one huge win for buying our retirement home 15 years early is the freedom to come & go on a whim. But if anyone is tracking for points, feel free to contact me in the future. Occasionally people ask about renting points & I’m not sure what to suggest instead of RTT. Facebook, I guess. Maybe.

I typed in the name of my resort the other day on ebay, to see if there were any fun items to be had...I saw a listing for five days at the resort...I was confused until I read it and learned he was renting points and you were to contact him after deciding your dates. I was like, "I do not know if this is the best idea"

So there's always ebay ha ha.

The only time I've ever "rented" points was a few years back, I needed more, I found some on one of the broker web pages that was for transfer, not rent, and I was happy about it. I think that's about the only way I would be comfortable doing it, to be honest.

Hilariously they were Grand Californian points, so I can say...one time, I used my VGC points to stay at OKW hee heeeeee

I’ve rented excess points out once, and I’ve rented a confirmed reservation from another MO. Both transactions were handled through the RTB. I know several MO’s who routinely rent a portion of their points, and I would feel completely comfortable renting from any of them if the need arises. Fortunately, I have chatted with most of them at some point over the years, and could safely contact them without breaking any rules. There is a certain degree of trust necessary for rentals. It’s not for everyone.

honestly, I’m glad it’s going bc I suspect it’s created a lot of stress and work for little thanks for the board admins

that said...so many things are changing post-pandemic, it makes me a little sad even if I agree with the changes
