In early stages of purchasing our 2nd DVC resale. My question is regarding use year and points availability (I should really know it but I forget).

The contract is for Sept use year for 50 points. There are 50 points left on 2016 use year (I don't want to use any 2017 or 2018 due to plans for 2018).

I estimate closing (haven't been told date due to offer just being accepted) to be close to end of July early August.

When will those 2016 points expire? I am guessing end of August since points become available the month of use year (I may be wrong).

Am I correct?

Correct, if they have not already been banked. If they have been banked, you have until Aug. 31, 2018.

(Edited to correct year)

Thanks

Sadly, not banked. Have some family that may be able to use them though for a 2-3 night stay at SSR in August.

Fingers crossed that everything goes through so someone can use them. Pity the owners didn't bank them when they had the chance.

The SUNPASS is most helpful on the trek you described.
you can walk around the resorts with drinks but most of the bars will give you plastic cups to avoid glass breakage on the grounds.

some times the online check in will allow you to make room requests (close to elevator/transportation/ground or upper floor) which can enhance your stay.

The DVC cash discount for members is only at DVC resorts. There are often general discounts at all resorts though - especially the deluxe resorts.
