reminder you have 10 days to cancel your direct contract if you wish to cancel and change to 150 rather than add 25 later and pay additional closing cost with less incentives.

Yes, this! Forgot to add that in. Wouldn’t be hard to cancel/amend as needed. Closing costs are higher than they used to be.

Agreed. I just wanted to make sure that the OP was aware that the "benefits" would go away in this situation. The benefits are so few these days that it might not be worth the other 25 points.

However, in my world, too many points is not a thing, so I'd rather just have the flexibility.

Sounds like a good move for you! Many years ago I sold off 160 Vero points, and bought 150 AKV instead. Those Vero dues were crazy even then, and the resort just wasn't one I liked to stay at (would rather go to Hilton Head). I've never regretted it, and it sounds like you won't either!

We don’t have any grandfathered contracts left, but we do have the 25 points we bought direct several years ago. That is enough to maintain our blue card.

While we are not interested in Disney APs, we do like the merchandise and food discounts.

We are going to be selling our HHI points soon for the three reasons mentioned by OP.

High maintenance
2042 ending date
Current high resale prices.

We will be needing to replace those 230 points, but we are not yet sure which way to go. OP bought VGF, but I m not sure that that resort is right for us. Maybe the new Poly?
