Default Annual Pass Question

Very excited for my first stupid question post...

DH and I are heading down soon, and I will need to renew our passes this week. If I currently have a Platinum Pass and want to renew to a Platinum Plus, do I pay the renewal rate for Platinum Plus or the full price since it is technically a new type of pass? I'm just looking at the cost of a day at the waterparks this trip, and if I can pay the renewal rate on the Platinum Plus...I can see us using the pass at least one more time making it worth it. If I have to shell out for the full price, fuhgeddaboutit.

You'll have to call in to renew but you are allowed to change the type of pass and pay whatever the renewal rate is of the pass you switch to.

does anyone know who owns Swan/Dolphin now?
with all the mergers and buy outs it is hard to keep track. I am trying to find out so I can use some travel points for a reservation.

They are operated by Starwood which recently merged with Marriott.

Yep. And if I could actually access my Marriott account, I might be able to merge it with my SPG account.

The resorts are owned by Tishman Realty & Construction Corporation and MetLife.

The resorts are operated by Marriott since they completed their purchase of Starwood Hotels.

Any idea if you get any benefits if you have SPG/Marriott Gold status?

Technically, they are owned by Disney and leased to Tishman/MetLife.
