Our alone time trips are the best. In fact, we take more trips alone and with friends to Disney, then we do with our adult kids.

We found the pace calmer, less hectic and actually more fun. That's not to say we have a bad time with the kids, just its fun to be a couple in Disney and without wearing our Mom & Dad hats.

Or they start working for the mouse so they get a stay-cation when you show up.....

I would agree with the statements to slow it down and just enjoy. I would suggest making your dinner reservations a little latter in the evening when more of those pesky kids have cleared out. Don't rush and enjoy dinner, you may find that the servers won't be as rushed as they know that they won't be getting another seating that night.

Bring a couple of friends with you - there's so much to be enjoyed when travelling with friends.
Eat at all the best restaurants, we love the Cali. Grill.
Lounge by the pool at your favorite resort and get to know the staff.
Play golf (if that's your thing) or go bowling or take a pontoon boat ride.
We travel child-less all the time and really enjoy ourselves.
Lots of cocktails and relaxing.....

Just found this thread, so I will chime in.
Absolutely the best times are without pressure from family.
I have finally slowed down and left the commando trips for the grandkids.
Bar at Yak and Yeti; Territory Lounge at WL, enjoying the British Revolution (without: are they done yet?), horseback trials at Fort Wilderness (we are only walking, but so serene). We can't wait to try the 2 seater boat at WL on the lake. Just chilling and eating whenever and whatever ( ice cream at 10 AM, anyone?)

Love, love, love our adult only, couples trips. It took a long time for me to plan a visit for just me and DH. We took our first couples trip early last year and havenít looked back.

The norm was to bank and borrow to reserve multiple villas every 3 years. Our groups were from about 10 - 20 with extended family and friends. While we still plan to invite these folks on occasion (planning a big trip in Jan 2019), we find ourselves conserving points just for the two of us. We would have never considered OKW GVs. Now we are so excited that by doing this, we can squeeze in a few more couples trips.

Last year, we visited 4 times. We love the slower pace. No need to cram in every ride because we will be back more often. Enjoy resort hopping. Dine at many more signatures...sometimes seated at the bar. Did F&W for the first time. Bought our first annual passes. Tried a few tours. My DH is loving it!! He has not always been the biggest WDW fan and now heís totally into it.

Enjoy!

Sounds divine. Fewer bathroom and snack breaks. More time at the bars. No whining. Sign me up!

Point conserving studios are great (how much time are we in the room? and we have plenty of room for the two of us).
We don't have to impress anyone or worry about who has bathroom access or stinks up the the toilet ( a little trick is the vanilla spray from France @ less than $8 works wonders and easy to pack in my toiletries kit). It's the little things.
5 years ago we had an anniversary trip to WDW during F&W (our first and we were hooked so we bought at AKL and addonitis set in from there).Life is good as empty nesters and the grandkids are just starting to join in on trips.

I'm planning a our first solo trip to Aulani in September next year to celebrate my wife's birthday and I'm looking forward to it. Way cheaper to pay for 2 first class tickets than paying 4.

We never made the transition since we don't have kids...so several years of adults-only trips.

One word: Bars.

Expanded answer: WDW has a bunch of cool ones.

Cheers.
