Default First Visit for 23 yr old

Due to a cascade of craziness our family trip in January is now just me, husband and our Grandsonís Au Pair. She is 23, lives in Germany, and has never been to anything Disney. We know what WE like, but having never been, sheís doesnít have a most wanted list of things to do. Any suggestions for dining or shows etc that appeal to 20 somethings?

Get her a copy of Birnbaum's book and let her decide for herself

Think that’s your best bet. Does she have any favorite characters and/or movies?

Obviously Biergarten?

But more seriously, I would see based on her interests as others have said. I'm sure she will appreciate anything you bring her to. I think what you enjoy she would enjoy too.

You could do the "no planning" thing...never having gone before, everything will be amazing and if you don't do something, she won't know. Like if we go, when it's over we might say, "Oh we didn't ride on teacups!" or whatever. But if you've never gone, well, you won't know to say that, and likewise won't be sad about it.

Thatís a great point! Iím used to being the over planner juggling favorites, and she likes everything, doesnít often express an opinion.

We did laugh about the Biergarten, told her she could tell us whatís like home and whatís been stereotyped

Iíll get her the book for Christmas!

I would recommend the book "The Easy guide to Your First Visit" by Dave Shute and Josh Humphrey. It is a great one for someone who has not been to Walt Disney World.

We took my son’s fiancťe with us for her first trip a couple of years ago. Her favorite park was AK and favorite attraction was the Safari. We had a couple of really neat animal encounters, which really helped.

Our 24 year old recommends AK for the animals, HS for TSMM, RnR, and ToT because “everyone wants to have the crap scared out of them at least once.” She also endorses HM, Splash Mountain, BTM, and IASW (this one is on her “never, ever miss” list.)

I love the Birnbaum’s suggestion! I’ve given that book to several friends/co-workers who were planning their first visits. Everyone who has received a copy said that it was very helpful with their trip planning. I never used to plan a trip without it! And then I found MO... Best of luck and have a great time! I’m sure she will enjoy the trip no matter what!

Forgot to mention... Em also says that a pair of ears, cotton candy, a Mickey bar and popcorn are essential. Especially the ears and popcorn.
