Default Disney Raises Resort Parking Prices

As reported on WDW Magic, Disney has increased the price of overnight guest parking at a Disney resort $1-$2 per night.

Values increase $2 from $13 - $15

Moderates increase $1 from $19 - $20

Deluxes increase $1 from $24 - $25

If you made your reservation before today, you are exempt from the increase.

Guests staying on points are exempt.

Renters of DVC reservations don't have to pay, either.

Well... why drag the increase news out? Rip that band-aid right off Disney!

I have dilemma on parking fees. I have a conference in January that uses WDW Yacht Club as housing option and no transportation to Orange County Convention Center so I have to rent a car.
I loath paying $25/day to park a rental for to and from and Uber/Lift is not a good option since DH needs his scooter for the conference we both attend.
I called DVC MS and they state since I would not be on DVC reservation (all booked up for January already!) I am subject to the fee.

How aggressively do they collect on fees at toll booth entry?
Is it booked on the reservation?
Is it collected at the toll booth?

As an annual pass holder and DVC member I feel the mouse has his hand in my pocket enough!

I'll just say this, when I was there two days ago, we watched a tow truck removing a car from the parking lot at Saratoga. I also noticed a couple of cars with ticket-like notes on the windshield. So i think Disney is paying more attention to their parking lots at the resorts.

Rats on the mouse...
I wonder if they know the difference between a rental car in the lot vs a dining guest on TIW or DVC diner? Of course, scanning the MB at the gate is a gamechanger.
I guess I will have to bleed the $ as a tax deductible business expense. It stinks that the parking fee is almost as much as the rental car!

you could always make a reservation for something at yacht club for that day and then modify it to the following day to avoid paying the $10 cancelation fee.

The guards apparently have a list where they can see who has reservations...so if you drive up the day of your reservation, you get in for free.

Only problem is that you are leaving your car overnight -- which will probably kill this idea.

I don't get it.
Your conference has set aside a block of room at the Yacht Club for attendees?
But they provide no transportation?
Are they paying for the room, or are you paying for it?
If you are paying for it, just stay somewhere else, closer to the OCCC. Why would that be a problem?
If they are paying for it, why would you begrudge the $25 parking fee for a free room?
