Default Orlando MCO airport passenger drop off

Hi everyone. I am looking for advice.

My fall trip, I will have a rental van and will be dropping people off at the airport and returning the rental. We will likely be on different airlines, so with that fact and the rental return, we will be on both A and B sides.

Does anyone know how long before the first flight time I should get everyone to the airport, consider the passenger drop off and the rental return? Is 2 hours early enough time? I will be checking my own luggage after the car return and I know it can be a long walk from A to B side, and vice versa. It will be a Saturday.

Thanks for any help!

Depends on the day of the week and time of day. TSA and rental counters are your enemy with time.

Without a rental car, we will uber from WDW 2 hours out and have been fine. We also have TSA-PRE. With the rental car, I would add 30 minutes to that time if its at the airport, more if its an offsite rental lot.

I would say it depends on the rental car service. Last time we went I did it through Alamo and could do all the check in stuff online ahead of time so I literally drove the car to the Alamo rental return and walked away. It took only the time for me to park and get our luggage out of the trunk...so maybe 3 minutes. We were there 2 hours early and had time to kill wandering around the airport.

You could do resort airline drop off of your bags 3 hrs before your flight so that you don’t need to worry about checking your bag. That way, everyone can be dropped off and go straight to the security lines. 2 hours is plenty of time from my experience. I almost exclusively rent from Alamo. Fastest pickup—straight to the lot with online checkin, fastest drop off and cars always in good condition.

Depending where you are renting the van from, and IF you were renting from the Disney rental hotels - why not drop the van off and all of you take the Magical Express

Agree it depends on who you rent from more than anything. Alamo adds in less than 15 minutes for us. Others are way more. Also if you can do airline bag check in at the resort that can shave some time off.

Every time I see those lines, Iím a little bit happier with my TSA pre-check.

Thanks for the input. You confirmed what I expected, plan 3 hours if not using ME and resort bag check.
