Thanks for this. I was convinced that V&A's was Michelin-starred. Upon further review there are none at all in Orlando, as you say.

Cheers.

So why isn't Orlando eligible for Michelin stars, while Manhattan is?

Michelin only gives stars for places in cities they cover. They only cover a few metro areas in the US as seen in BRP's post.

You beat me to the punch.

You also left out Washington DC. Jose Andres of Jaleo (at Disney Springs) has a star for one of his DC establishments.

They are 5 Diamond - one of three in Florida, and the only one in Central Florida.

Actually, I'm kind of glad that Michelin doesn't cover Orlando. There is a two star in Manhattan with a $250 tasting menu. Takumi-Tei's $139 is a bargain in comparison. Nearly McDonald's level.

Ko

Quote:
At Ko we are guided by the Japanese kaiseki tradition as well as seasonality, the innovation of our mentors and peers, food memories, and the breadth of cuisine available in the melting pot of New York City.

In our main dining room, we serve a multi-course tasting menu. Reservations are required.

Our bar offers a constantly evolving selection of a la carte dishes. Seating at the bar is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ko has two Michelin stars, which it has maintained since 2009.
In 2015, Ko was awarded three stars by the New York Times.
In 2018, Ko was ranked No. 62 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.

Tasting Menu $255*
Beverage Pairing $195*

*Inclusive of service

Counter / Table Menu
In our main dining room, we serve a tasting menu based largely on market availability. Our lunch menu is served Friday through Sunday. Our dinner menu is served Tuesday through Saturday. Both menus are $255 per person, inclusive of service. We will make accommodations for food allergies with prior notice.

Please allow at least 2.5 hours for your meal.
Obviously not every one wants to dine at these prices, but there is a tradition of this style of dining that is supposed to be phenomenal. It's not a meal, it's an event. If you see it that way, it's no different than dinner and a show in Manhattan. Indeed, giving Broadway tickets, you might get off cheaper just going to Ko.

Now, having said that, at these prices, it would be neat of Takumi-Tei patrons got reserved Illuminations viewing on the Japan balcony outside Tokyo Dining.

Well, that was just a list of cities, but I figured it out from other posts.

Actually, no. It really isn't a list of cities. But I can see how it might look that way.

Cheers.
