Default 1st Couples Trip...The Very Good, Good and Bad

DH and I made our first couples trip to the World. Here are our thoughts:

THE VERY GOOD:
Visiting the World without the family - Very very good and a completely different experience. No others to worry about. We went at our own pace and enjoyed a lot of adult beverages. We had a different perspective on our old favorites, mostly all positive.

Flying Fish Cafe - Without a doubt, the best meal we had during the entire week.

The view from our room, Saratoga Springs #2703

The band playing at the Boathouse on 4/02

The Shorts at Imagination in Epcot

The Rock Show at Epcot...we saw Blood Sweat & Tears with Bo Bice, excellent!

Savor the Savannah Tour (food just ok)

Frozen Sing-a-long - Tons of laughs

France Bakery lunch

Tippons lunch

Uber - First time using. Everything went smoothly and much cheaper that taxis

Late night glass of wine on the balcony - priceless

THE GOOD
Saratoga Springs - First Stay, it grew on us

Highway in the Sky Dine Around - Awesome experience with very good food and drink. But, it is missing a certain unexplainable special event quality. Met some great fellow quests

The Boathouse - Food was good. Service was OK.

Via Napoli - Great time. Slow check-in. Asked to be seated in the main room off the podium as some parts of the dining areas are too cafeteria like. Good food and service.

Morning Bus Service - No hassle

Rivers of Light - we were split on this one. I really liked it. DH did not. He thought it lacked a theme. Really enjoyed the FP+ seating

DVC Epcot lounge - Great place to get out of the heat or to take a break from the fast pace.

THE BAD:
Pecos Bill Lunch - Just awful!

50s Prime Time Diner lunch - no walk-ups, so we ate at the bar. The food was not good. Perhaps the dining room atmosphere adds to the taste?

People in front of us stopping walking without any warning. It's expected, but just seemed more frequent than usual

The CM loading guests onto the Jungle Cruise...downright rude

Disappointed in the Frozen ride in Epcot. Liked it better before the redo.

Car Rental at Car Care Center - one day rental to visit St Augustine. Shuttle pick up was fine, but very very long line at Alamo...wasted a lot of time.

Checkout day - Always sad!

Thanks for the summary, glad overall it looks like the good far outweighed the bad.

Great summary! You know it is a good trip when the Very Goods and Goods vastly outweigh the Bads.

I don't want my kids to grow up too fast, but I'm very much looking forward to an adults-only trip! Sounds like a great time. Also, I completely agree about Pecos Bill. Our first few trips we loved it. Now, we won't even entertain the idea of eating there.

Adults trips are great. We started about 4/5 years ago. We still travel with the "kids" here and there but they are all adults now (two married/grandchild).

Great summary. Overall a great trip.

That sounds awesome!!! Lots of wonderful memories and experiences. We did a quick couples trip to Universal a few years back, and can't wait to do a Disney getaway.

We have a quick adult trip scheduled next month, and it will be our first time at Saratoga Springs. Glad to know it "grew" on you -- we haven't been very excited about it, but maybe we will like it after all.

Nice summery of your trip.....

Glad my SSR won you over.....at least a little.

Perhaps you noticed more people abruptly cause you were without your kids. We travel often without the kids and there is a different pace when you have kids with you.

Thank you! Enjoyed reading your report.

SSR is great for Adult and Family trips.
Especially with DS now.
What section was your villa? and what made the view so great?

I enjoy the views there too, just wondering.
