Here are 13 reasons not to get the dining plan. Can you think of any other reasons?

I think I actually fibbed when I voted and said never but we did get it once. I think we did it just to try it. It was SO much food, we couldn't take it. My oldest son was running cross country competitively, my husband is a runner and my youngest was competing in sports, not to mention just plain growing, so they could really chow down. So, for them to say it was too much food, it was too much food!

Besides that, I have figured it out many times over the years and we always came out ahead with TIW. However, now that TIW is so expensive, we may not get it anymore. We shall see how it will fare against paying outright. I just hate the thought of getting food I really do not want to eat -especially when I am on a low carb diet. If we ever did try it again, it would not be for an entire stay. We do a lot of split stays and maybe a day here or a day there when we plan to dine out an that would be it.

I did the same thing- in what we once did and how I voted. We did do it once, and I realized it was a monumentally stupid (for us) thing to do. And what was when we ate more than we do now.

Cheers.

He left out the "no you can't what you want because the only way the DDP make sense is if you eat the MOST expensive item on the menu" (overheard the last time I made the LeCellier error and actually ate there)

Also, none of the good restaurants at Swan/Dolphin are on the DDP (there might be a correlation... good food = no DDP LOL!) and the decent Disney options are two credits.

I voted Never since the last time I got it was over 10 years ago. And it was not worth it then (and it included appetizers back in the dark ages! LOL! We had 4 teenagers with us and even they didn't like it )

Default Food, food, glorious food

The only dining plan I ever had was quick service during free dining. Since I was a solo it was a bargain. I did enjoy it. I ate breakfast most days. I used all snack credits at food and wine booths. It included deserts so I ate deserts. I was surprised how terrible most of the deserts were. It was more food than I needed. I was determined not to miss a meal.

I did like the convenience . I ordered what every I wanted. It was fun ordering two steaks at Canada booth and then the lobster sandwich at another booth. I liked not worrying about money and price. But unless it was part of the free dining promotion I would not do it again .

We will purchase the deluxe dining plan sometimes during split stays for a few days. We will eat at all the signature restaurants using the deluxe plan. It is an insane amount of food though - even for teenage/young adult sons.

Most times, we utilize the TIW. It is really a money saver for us since one card will usually cover multiple trips.

In December, we just used the AP discounts.

We always get the dining plan it just makes sense for our family right now. Our kids are both under 9 and we do a lot of character meals. Also I'm in the group of, I like that it is taken care of ahead of time. I look at all of the things I "waste" money o at Disney such as balloon or toys that will get broken quickly. We do use the plan to its full extent. Would I eat dessert everyday at home? No way but I am on vacation and I just go for it!
