I wouldn't worry so much about mold. I've had my Keurig for years and never had an issue. The water in the reservoir gets heated to a high temperature and then flushed out when you use the machine. If not, everything would taste like vinegar when you use it to descale as suggested for machine maintenance. Yes it's a closed system but really not a problem. Spend your time worrying about the jacuzzi tub jets instead!

The ones they put in the room are typically the one cup versions, where you put the water for each cup in the machine to heat. Also the cleaning process for these involves filling with white vinegar, which would wipe out pretty much anything in there.

Now if they had the regular Keurig that always kept water sitting in the inside then I fully understand that concern.

But I'd bet money that Disney cleans them way more than we do in our own homes.

Heres the thing. The refurb is only the hotel rooms. Jambo had their soft good refurb just a couple of years ago. Thats why so many of us are calling foul on this whole value rooms out of commission for almost 2 months story.

Yes, it's a regular room but still at Jambo. Whether they're refurbing the DVC rooms or not, I just wondered if the Value rooms were coming back "early." I guess they take a while to redo the whole hotel, though. Still, why did some folks get Value rooms in December when they're supposedly out of commission?

Reopening this old thread... so now that we are actually in January '20, has anyone checked out the 5th floor at Jambo to see what is going on right now?

Are those floors/hallways being renovated? (which eventually was the 'official' reason Disney gave for pulling the rooms from inventory)

Or, are there people actually staying in the rooms, and Disney sold them for cash stays?

... there was a lot of discussion a year ago on this topic, but hadn't seen anything concrete now that we are actually within that window of time.

Im sure I saw that people started to be able to book them. Well after the 11 month window, thinking it was around Easter last year. But certainly I saw a couple of people celebrate getting one.

We had a value villa in December. Overlooking Mara. Im guessing we were the last occupants before renovations. Our check out was on the 10th or 11th. They had scaffolding up outside and definitely looked like they were gearing up to get some work done inside the halls or rooms too. In fact they ended up moving us to a hotel room during our stay. The closure of the value category for construction was all legit. The hotel room we got moved to had been refurbished. I really liked everything except the, wood floors. They did not feel or sound right at all.

Staying at AKV right now, so I took a few pictures once I saw the construction going on. For sure no one is staying in those rooms.

Hallways to the Value rooms are totally blocked off:

And, we could see from our balcony the workers in the Value rooms:
