Get used to the differences but I will get there. At the same time I am going to get back into using my dslr . Just ordered a lens that will be here tomorrow. Saying all that which photo editing software do you Mac owners use?

Looking forward to your opinions and tips.

You can get lightroom / photoshop for $10 / month.

There is pixelmator, apples' photos, acorn, and affinity.

I've never gotten comfortable with Apple's Photos app. I used Aperture since I shoot RAW with a dSLR and liked it very much. Once Apple announced that they would never improve it, I moved over to Adobe Lightroom, which I also like very much. I, too, use the $10 a month version that also include Photoshop.

To me, they key things to look for is something that catalogs the photos effectively so that you can easily find them, does good edits, and interfaces well with sharing sources. Sharing is where I like Lightroom the least since I can't get the photos into iCloud easily and seamlessly.
