Will Hulu let you stream your typical cable channels when travel, just not local, or is all *live* blocked out?

Dirk
Live make you change your location. It won't work till you change the location setting. I have the regular hulu, no comercials, all streaming and can use t anywhere.

Dirk
I'm going to try the CBS app. If I can get live local news that will work for us. We also have frndly tv for weather channel and DW's hallmark movies.

It's still somewhat cheaper to go with YouTube TV or Hulu Live with Frndly than Fubo, but having it all in one place, is nice, too.

Do you have any tips or warnings for Fubo?

Dirk
Fubo has added a few more channels since I first signed up and I think it's rounded out the lineup pretty nicely at least for what I'm looking for. Even has my Comet TV vs going to the app to get some old scifi that I missed on the first go around! haha I actually don't have any warnings about Fubo. I've used Sling and DirectNow too but not YouTube or Hulu Live to compare it to. The layout is different between Roku and the Firestick but similar enough to have no issues with either. So far it's just worked. It allows streaming on 2 devices at one time or you can upgrade for $5 or so to stream on 3 simultaneously. It also comes with quite a good amount of recording space for no additional fee. There's no rewinding if you haven't been recording but I don't recall if Sling had that either as it's been almost 2 years since I switched from that.

I'm surprised that Hulu doesn't work when you travel. Very odd decision indeed.

No ESPN bothers me but otherwise does seem to have a nice sports selection. Very intriguing!

Doesn't there have to be live sports in order to have live sports?

Dirk

Yes, watch some hockey tonight.

And if you need local stations and your on roku try locast. They broadcast local tv from major cities and ask for a $5 donation each month.

Ok so I was watching you tube and looking for cord cutting help. I found one that said if you have internet and not cable connect you cable to the back of your tv, go to settings set up, select tv, cable not antenna and search digital channels. We got 28 extra channels that are just floating out there on the line for free.

An update since this thread was resurrected - Fubo continues to add channels and now has ESPN and ESPN2 I believe. If sports are the focus I tend to think it's the best streaming option. They did just recently reduce their recording space that is included but overall I still find it reasonable and good for sports such as they are these days.
