Yep, I just got an email yesterday that our NS flight from Pit-Lauderdale in Feb is now a connection through BWI. What a crock of BS.

Oh yes, the "no fees" adverstising

Of course the last time I wanted to change a SW flight to fly home early it was $300. Had I flown Delta I could have done standby for $50.

Bring on the fees, for me they are cheaper LOL!

A you well know, fees and fare differences are not the same. Fare differences can happen on any airline at any time, and they are charged. Cherry-picking an example where WN happened to be worse does not make a case. Plenty of counter-examples can be constructed.

The fees were always. Fare changes can be up or down (and we've had both on multiple airlines).

bringing back fees would not reduce fare differences, so the net would still be worse.

Cheers.

My Email said that, but then when I went to change flights, I got told that my airport was not "protected" (whatever that means?) and I might pay a fee. Sure enough-what I changed to involved a fee, but I had enough ticketless travel funds to pay it, and since I don't plan to travel for a while, that was fine.
But just wanted to warn you that there MIGHT be a hitch.

In cases like this there is more leeway when calling. Since this is a fare difference and not a fee (they're all money to us, but handled very different) agents often have ability to stretch things that are not afforded the automated system.

Cheers.
