Are there some sections over others where you have a better chance of getting a renovated room?Better chance booking standard or preferred view?
You would need to book a preferred category room. That wont guarantee a renovated room but it should help. Then, Id do a room request and ask for an updated room. You can use the chat feature or email link on the DVC member webpage do send in a request

I hoping the Standard rooms will be renovated by the time we get back to SSR. A lot of unknowns, including health of DM, may impact the length of time before we get back to SSR.

Permits were filed this week for (presumably the last) Paddock building (6500) with an expiration date of 4/30 and two Grandstand buildings (8100 & 8500 with expiration dates of 5/22/2021 & 6/21/2021 respectively.

Does anyone know how many Grandstand and Carousel buildings there are?

This must be the slowest renovation ever especially considering the low occupancy rates they've had.

Grandstand has 4 buildings and Carousel has 2.

Paddock building 6500 is the last one on the end closest to Congress Park. Grandstand 8100 & 8500 are the 2 closest to the Carriage House. They do seem to be moving along.

So does anyone know basically when Disney would start the work once filing permits? I'm selfishly asking as we are at Disney starting the 26th and we always ask to be in either of the two Grandstand buildings they just filed permits for. Hoping we will still be able to get in them.

Grandstand - 4 Bldgs / Carousel - 2 Bldgs.
I saw a posting on another forum that said:
" People have stayed in the Paddock in newly refurbished rooms.....1 Building is finished... 2 are under construction...." (paraphrasing).
????

I have requested the Paddock for half of our January Reservation, and I hope we get the new rooms. For the other half of our stay we have booked Preferred, and requested Congress Park.

I don't know. BWV took like 2.5 years last time. Was utterly annoying!

You're sure it was that long? I would have guessed it was more like a 10-12 months. At least for the inside. I know the outside seemed to drag on.
