Default RIP Eddie Van Halen

Eddie Van Halen, once rated the greatest guitarist of all time, and certainly in any top 10, has passed at the age of 65 after a long battle with cancer.

I was privileged to have seen van Halen about 9 times in my life.

I suggest that we all observe our own personal moment of extreme loudness in Eddie's honor.

Cheers.

I am so shocked and sad at the same time. Agreed about being an excellent guitar player. He could make that guitar talk to you!

B. Springsteen

Could have been talking about Eddie.

The guitar riff on "Beat It" is still an all-time favorite of mine.
(As a side note, if anyone gets a chance to see the Michael Jackson Blu Ray for "This is It," his guitar player Orianthi Panagaris does this brilliantly).

Cheers.

I only saw Van Halen live once, but I am extraordinarily glad that I was able to. One of my favorite concerts that I've attended.

So saddened by Eddie's passing. Truly a giant, and one of the most influential, talented, and greatest guitarists of all-time.

Such a shame.....65 is still too young.

He was one of my top guitarists ever.
