Default Annual pass

So would you have canceled your annual pass if you had known you would not be able to buy one now?

No, we do 3-4 trips per year and buying tickets for each trip is going to get really expensive.

Wait! You cancelled your AP during the closure period? In that case I think you’re able to get a new one. Phone the AP helpline and they may be able to tell you, or they’ll take your details and get back to you in a day or two.

🤞

Agree that you should call and likely you'll qualify to purchase a new one. They are selling them to people who had them.

We cancelled three Gold APs during the closure. I called a few months back and asked about getting new AP's, and they put me on a callback list. When they called back a few days later, they not only allowed us to get new Gold AP's for the three that we had cancelled, but also two more for my kids who didn't happen to have AP's at the time. It's like they still wanted my money.

Yep cancelled APs seem to be able to buy new!

I cancelled an unused renewal and bought new all in the same day. Just squeaked through before they stopped selling. No way I'd want to be stuck buying tickets for every trip.

We got lucky, they didn't process all our cancellations. So they re-enabled our passes and extended them through our March trip. We are still trying to decide if we should renew. They absolutely were allowing renewals for people who cancelled during the closure.

Thanks for the reassurances, but I think I asked the question wrong. Our old APs expired at Thanksgiving, so I'm guessing the renewal ones would have a start date at that time and expire next Thanksgiving, not have a start date in May 2021 and expire May 2022.

You posted that you asked for a refund and received it, correct? So the pass wasn't allowed to expire at Thanksgiving but was actually cancelled? If so then they have been selling AP's to those who did that. It is a new AP, not renewing something that actually was cancelled and refunded. It would start when you activate on your next visit.

I received a partial refund for family's APs that were originally set to expire in June 2020. Even so, the passes appeared on MDE to be extended through November 2020. I called MS and they confirmed this and said I had until Dec 2020 to renew but passes would expire June 2021, so I declined. None of this makes sense, and reading this thread, I'm even more confused.

Am I reading correctly, that some have been able to call MS to get a voucher and not activate the pass until the next visit? Does that mean it doesn't expire until a year after activation?
