Default MS Chat feature

I am a huge fan of the chat feature. I feel like everyone I have ever chatted with has been super helpful. However, I can't figure out the rhyme or reason as to when it is available. Is it typically based on when MS is "open" for phone calls? Sometimes I log on, and there is a message on the right side of my home screen that says the chat feature isn't available...and then all of a sudden it is...sometimes within minutes. I didn't see posted hours. Does anyone know the answer to this?
Hoping everyone is well.

Has always been unavailable when I look.

As of yesterday only 2 cars in parking lot for DVC Member Services Building
And 2 Swans floating in reservoir across street all this week.
Thank you DVC for that perk!

I'm assuming the DVC chat feature is tied in some way to DVC CMs being in the office. It probably has to do with ensuring security of the chat feature between DVC CMs and Members.

My best guess....I believe that all DVC CMs are currently in a work from home situation and for this reason the chat feature is not available.

I think if all are occupied then it shows "unavailable". It usually shows unavailable and I just keep hitting the contact us and it will appear. So that must catch when someone stops assisting someone else and becomes available.

I've had this experience too [showing unavailable].

Right now, the chat feature is not even show as an option on the "HELP & CONTACT" drop down menu. It seems like the ability to chat has simply been removed as an option for the time being.

Yes - I have seen that too! Trying to remember if just opening the contact us area repeatedly worked for that too. I think it did but it has been a while.

I think its actually a queue limit issue. In the chat software we use we set how many "visitors/customers" a chat rep can handle, then you set how many people you want to handle in the queue. The queue is when you click chat, enter your info and then wait for a chat rep to become available. When the queue is full then it stops taking new "visitors" to wait in the queue and you are instead sent to a contact us form or "unavailable" icon. For DVC they chose the unavailable option and the chat option disappears from the site so you cannot click on it and start a chat to get into the queue.
