Default The Henry Daddy/Daughter Trip Report

Guys,

Just returned from The world after a quick 4 night (5 actually but first was just for sleeping) trip.

The initial plan was just for myself and DD7 to hit the world on our first ever focused Daddy/Daughter trip just before expiration of my Premium Annual Pass I purchased last May....then I realized it was over the Mother's Day weekend and we invited mommy to share the room with us (she did not have an active AP). We were going to fly down on Saturday the 9th and then back on Wednesday the 15th (the day of my AP expiration). THat was the original plan... We amended when we found a late flight down on Friday that was $70 cheaper per ticket...

I will add pictures when I get a chance to download them from my memory card. I hope to start that later tonight. Nothing earth shaking so do not get too excited...I am not a Frank or Mike!

The Planned Itinerary (which we amended):

Resorts:
1 Night (Friday) BCV Studio
4 Nights (Sat-Wed) AKV Kidani Standard

Parks:
Sat: EPCOT (Akershus Lunch)
Sun: MK
MON: EPCOT/DHS
TUE: EPCOT (Mommy joining using NE Pass for one day)
WED: AK with evening flight home

We mostly stuck to the above schedule with some adjustments I will lay out in the plan.

Will fill in later with some pics.

Day 1: Travel.

First, it is May, ...in Virginia...which means temperate weather (think it was about 78-81 degrees on this day)..and it means there is Pollen everywhere. I have a black truck I just washed..and it looks Yellow.

Pollen means my Allergies are in OVERDRIVE! I had to be in Richmond to perform a corporate assessment on our school and homes there so drove down on Wednesday and plan was to drive back Friday and mow grass before we leave for Dulles to catch the plane..WRONG. My allergies were bad. So bad I thought I had a cold and possibly Strep. So when I got home I went to bed. (This means my grass has not been mowed for 5 nights at this point...which is another problem in Virginia this time of year..it is a bigger problem at 10 nights as I learned...)

DW woke me up at 6, we had a light dinner and headed for the airport. Economy parking, Shuttle arrives in 10 minutes. All is good.

DD7 had TSA PRe...I did not..but really no issues and we are at gate. Plane is FULL. Why did I think a plane leaving at 10pm for Orlando would be less crowded..just more tired kids... But we made it. Plane landed on time at about 11:30pm. Bus for BCV is waiting, small wait and off we go.
We arrive at BC abour 1230 after other stops and by the time we get to our room and get set up it is almost 2am. I am feeling sick, and tired....and we have an 11am fastpass at Mission Space....

Some observations. BCV is clean. IT s close to EPCOT. But rooms are showing some age. Rust on shower head, some mold spots etc. BUt BCV is convenient as heck.

No pictures of this night..just went straight to bed.

Day 2: EPCOT..

Plan was to sleep till 10ish, and then get out to the Park (DW to Stormalong Bay).

DD7 and I and DW were up at the planned time. As we headed out we saw Richard who seems to be at BCV when we are there..guessing he is a fixture:

And of course we had to get a pic of us as we headed out and note the Dad with Socks Flip Flops... (yes, I am big and need to lose about 40lbs...ugh..):

And then one of Mommy with us too.....

The Sun was not being kind for this shot but I loved the idea of the shot with the BWV in the background...

Mary Poppins was quite "Spit Spot" as we walked in through the world showcase and in Great Britain:

And of Course the characters of Peter Pan are in Bloom in Great Britian:

(I do not know why that spot showed up all of a sudden..)

We made it to our 11:30 to 12:30 Fastpass to Mission Space. She loves the ride. Always Orange, never Green.

Next: Akershus for lunch

Day 2 : EPCOT (Cont'd)

Our Akershus ressie was at 1:35..we showed up at about 1:20 and they seated us right away.

Akershus is a semi-Buffet and semi-plate meal. Which means they have a Buffet with some salad items, some fruit, some traditional Norwegian smoked fish and veggies. I love smoked salmon and this did not disappoint. I also ordered the salmon main dish and it was very good. We had only been here for breakfast before so this was first real food and I must say, I am very impressed. I think this is one of the better deals for a character meal at WDW.....But who am I kidding, I know who Brian wants to see!!!!!!!!!!!!

Belle

A little Cindy:

Snow:

Mulan: (not sure she is included in any other charcter meal)

Ariel:

Her Favorite Princess..I think...(Does Elsa count since she is a Queen??)
