I think you can still get certificates. I know when I owned (I bought direct through Disney investing) there was an option to cash out shares to a certificate rather than a check. Kinda kicking myself I didn't do that with one share.

ETA: Yep, you can still get a certificate.

I bought one of these, and the photo on it is cool, but the words don't look right on it - It just doesn't look like a real stock certificate, to me. Also, they let me put anyone's name on it when only 2 people were actually on the stock. They did force me to prove I was a shareholder before they would allow me to buy one.

Thanks for letting me know! My single share of stock split bak in the 90s so I'd assumed it would split again. Didn't know that!

It’s not new, but it is less than twenty years old. I bought it solely to hang on the wall - the fact that it’s a real stock is a bonus. I know after I bought it, they got rid of the program for awhile, but you can now buy them again. I get come on offers every now and then to purchase another one, but I don’t like the new design nearly as much as the one I have.

Edit: when I looked at the new “stock”, it appears it’s not a real stock certificate, it’s only a certificate denoting you’re an owner.

That new one isnít an actual certificate - it just denotes that youíre a DIS stockholder. I think mine is an actual stock.

Agreed. We bought one years ago on the last day you could do so. Spent extra for the special design and font, but it showed up looking like crap without the special formatting. Didn't bother jumping through hoops to get it looking right, but I'm glad you can get something again now that looks better. I should have bought more of those pieces of paper at $60 I guess

Well, that's a bummer!

DIS seems to be holding its gains today, even though the Market is down.
