Default Dining Plan Questions

I think we have determined that the Dining Plan is usually too much food or time consuming for us.

However, I have a trip coming up that will involve one night at one resort before checking in to another for the next 7 days. I was considering purchasing the Quick Service plan for that first night.

I am sure others have done this and am wondering if it ended up being worth the expense? Does the refillable mug have a sensor on it with an expiration date or would it be useable for the entire 8 night trip? We are not big soda drinkers, but enjoy the lemonade and probably the hot chocolate that time of year. Not a deal breaker, just curious.

The mug should be set for 14 nights by default.

Thanks, I did a little bit of research of where we will probably eat and I just cannot see where this would be a benefit to us, except for having food prepaid. We are not big alcohol drinkers, so I think that makes it less of a value. Guess we will stick to the OOP option.

If you have a one night plan, then do the deluxe meal plan. You can double do one night at a signature and the next at a regular. We are not drinkers either but if you plan it right, the deluxe is worth it for a night.

I did this on my last trip. We were at the All Stars and booked it with the DxDDP. We did one meal at Spice Road and another meal st California Grill the next night.

I asked about the resort mug once on a split stay recently and was told by a cast member at OKW that she knew how to program them to end when your stay was over, even though they default to 2 weeks. I think it takes someone going out of their way to mess with you but I found it a little unsettling. I was just talking about buying it for a regular split stay but no way I'm paying that kind of money for an iced tea at night since we barely spend time at the resorts normally.

But chances are if you do the plan for one day and get the mug, it'll still work elsewhere for the rest of your trip.
