Default First dvc trip and Port Orleans Riverside review

Just came back from our first trip as full card carrying dvc members. What a great feeling and a learning experience. Due to a lack of forthought on my part we did get to stay on points but only for part of our stay. The part we did stay with was a one bedroom at SSR for 4 nights. Never been in that kind of room before and all I have to say is WOW. Might just have to get more points just to stay in that kind of room more often.

Always liked SSR and that is why we picked it as our first home resort. But now on to why I am really writting this review.

We spent 2 nights in a royal room at port orleans riverside and was totally blown away by everything I saw. Disney really knows how to do it right. Then I sat on the bed. Everything started to change after that. Not only could you hear the springs popping you felt them too. I have never had a mattress that bad at disney but figure it must be all the kids jumping as they watch the fireworks built into the headboard.

Otherwise the trip was spectacular as usual. Can't wait for our next trip

Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip. I've never stayed at either resort but plan to someday.

Glad to hear you had good time other then mattress.

You can always call housekeeping to take care of those mattress. WDW resorts has very high occupancy so mattresses does wear out faster.

Port Orleans is my favorite non-DVC resort!

Looking forward to your photos and overall trip report

And I agree - both SSR and POR are great resorts.

Thanks for sharing Bigb your thoughts about SSR and PO -- glad it was good trip.

Fireworks built in to the headboard? Triggered by movement on the bed? Oh my. That sounds interesting, and could give new meaning to "magical"
