Since all ocean beaches are public in Hawaii, this is probably being done so that Atlantis guests can have their own private “beach”.

This is a huge departure from the original concept they released (the initial one kept more in line with the Dubai/Bahamas look). This totally sticks out like a sore thumb compared to Aulani and the other resorts, it will be odd if it goes forward.

On the plus side, it looks like those Aulani rooms that face towards the vacant lot now will have a nice view of the pool/beach area as opposed to staring right at the building!

That looks awful. Also, it seems much too big for the land they purchased if earlier reports were correct. I can't imagine the city would sign off on that thing.

It really does look out of place. Much too big and looks out of place to me. I like the original design more. Being next to AUL the other design looked more inline with the styles there. This looks like a big old spaceship landed.
