I wonder why they haven't added on more rooms at VGC. After all, it's been a few years now and if they were waiting to see if a DVC would work at DLR I think they have a resounding YES as an answer.

From what I've read, when they built the addition there, that wing where the DVC rooms are has other regular hotel rooms, but those were supposedly designed or had the infrastructure to be able to convert to DVC villas pretty easily.

Too bad they don't seem to be interested in expanding the DVC options at DLR, either with these rooms (if true) or at DLH, esp given the recent renovation there.

But, if they are filling those rooms with cash customers, that may be better than DVC for them in the long run. DLR has a much different dynamic than WDW. I think a good majority of DLR visitors are locals with annual passes. This may somewhat skew the DVC plans. Since there is little more land to expand, they would probably have to sacrifice cash rooms.

I know there's been an increased interest in DVC stays at DLR as people are doing a stop over there from/to Aulani. At least a friend of mine who works for DVC told me this.

There's also no doubt there has been a conflict between the DVC side and the hotel side of Disney as they are separate divisions and anything that one would want to do that would affect the other, like converting those rooms, would have to be negotiated at a higher level.

Finally, there has been talk about adding a tower at DLH which w/b DVC. There IS room there. There's also room behind the PPH where ther is an CM parking lot. I never could understand why they haven't built more multi level parking structures to free up some of that space. maybe a zoning issue, but they did build the huge structure for guests just a few years ago, so maybe not.

I think that technically those rooms were built by and owned by DVD although I'm not positive. So they may have them leased out to the DL resort division for a certain number of years. Complete speculation though about that.

Interesting I did not know that. ADN I can agree, this was true for years at OKW I could of made more then when I purchased. Now if they open up more DVC at DL, I see that changing. But your point is well taken.

VGF may be an exception also because of the small size. But all the other options for points will tend to drive prices down on reslae market IMO.
