Default Availability of points but for only one location?

I'm confused because I see lots of posts offering points for only one resort. I thought points could be used anywhere and that the home resort dictates whether you can book up to 11 months in advance or only up to 7 months in advance.

Why is it that someone would have something like "200 points for VGF"?

Thanks in advance.

They are letting you know which resort they have the priority booking for.
If they advertise "200 points for VGF" then the reader knows that member can book VGF at 11 months.
Many DVC resorts (including VGF) often need to home resort advantage to get the room. Yes, you can use the points at any resort at 7 months, if the room is available.

Also, you can expect to get a little more per point for those 11 month bookings at a highly desired resort/time of year.

They could also be the one time developer points to use at SSR.
