Default Don't want my guest to use my credit card

My generous parents are taking the whole family to Disney tomorrow. There will be 13 of us; My parents, my siblings and I (and our spouses) and my fathers sisters and husband... and a bunch of kids.

We only have two real MDE accounts between us; mine and my fathers. I manage both, but my father is learning how to use his over the years.

Everyone else has a secondary account ether linked to mine or my fathers account. Including my aunt and her husband...

... is there a way to make it so my aunt has her own credit card linked to her and her husbands magic bands? ... every family has its members that are not good with money and she's ours. Every one else it doesn't mater what credit card is used as we would easily settle up at some point.

Thank you for your help

Smile Turn off their charging provledges

And have them bring their own credit cards.

Or go to target and buy them disney gift cards.

Otherwise itíll be a mess

Just a suggestion.

The credit cards go by room at the highest level or at check in the front desk can link different credit cards to different people. If you're all in one room that is the way it will have to go but yes, each can have their own card assigned to them for use during their stay. Otherwise if some have their own rooms then during online check in they give their own credit card. As mentioned you can also have the front desk limit charging ability to certain people in the room.

Got it ... first stop is front desk check in.

Thanks for the info .

Good luck with getting this done AND more importantly correctly!!!

A few years ago took my sister on a trip and we had to stop at the front desk too many times to count for this to be corrected!!! Fortunately sheís a responsible adult and we ended up settling the bills after the trip with no real issue.

During these COVID times for our trip earlier this month I found it much easier (and safer) to use Apple Pay (or Google Pay) instead of my Magic Band. Apple Pay was entirely touchless; no pin required. If you have smart phones, that’s the way to go.

Yup, this. Credit cards charging assignments to MB (whether in same room or different) are easy to set up at check-in and completely unrelated to MDE accounts.

Since there have not been any confirmed cases of virus contraction by contact, we've not worried about this and continue to use the MB and pin.

Cheers.

Hope it works out for your trip. We also have a relative like that (I think every family has one)

Something to note, after setting the charge privleges the way you want it with the front desk....

Even if you have magic band set up with your CC, you should always take one credit card/gift card and ID with you to the park. I can't count how many times on a trip where the reader isn't working and you have to pay with cash, CC, or a Disney Gift Card.

Good Luck

I would also caution on relying on different credit cards by magic band being set up properly. Like the above poster we also had trouble on a trip when I went with a girlfriend. We literally went to the desk 3 times to try and get the charging to work like it should, but it still charged everything to my credit card and only mine. We finally gave up and she just paid me back after the trip.

Rather than deal with this I would just not allow charging on the MBs period, and have everyone use a different method, either credit card, Apple Pay, etc. Disney just isn’t able to consistently split people out right when they share a room using MBs.

So, we went to the front desk and had them set up each adult group with their own credit card. It was a fast process ... we assumed it worked ok I don't think anyone has actually checked their charges yet.

I don't think we used the magic bands to pay for many things and when we have its been one person buying something (breakfast) for everyone.
