Default Banned in Error

Hello. I have been a long-time user of this forum. Rarely do I ever post, but I read quite a lot. I just try to visit the forums, And I got the message IP banned. I feel this was an error, because I did not post anything nor violate any rules. I had to use a different computer just to post this. Could someone please look into this for me please? I really do enjoy the forms in the site And would like access back.

The message indicates that your IP address was banned ... not you, as a user. Do you use AT&T as your internet provider? The site has blocked large blocks of AT&T addresses due to misuse. (I'm sensitive to this as I use AT&T as my provider and am, periodically, blocked due to the address.)

By using the 'different computer' to access the site you've found an effective workaround ... and are not coming in via the blocked addresses.

Glad you are here!

Thanks for the insight. No I am not an AT&T user. Yes I am using a different computer. It’s at the in laws. So I won’t be able to use it often. Is there no solution to unbanning?

It's more complicated than described, but yes, there is a solution.

If you can PM me the IP address that was banned, I can take a look and see what we can do.

Because that's where the spammers are.

Nonsense. Why just the other day the Nigerian Prince offered to send me $15 million. Why would he lie?

No, you use too many IP addresses, so there's nothing we can do about it. Please note that we get a ton of spam from VPNs, so they aren't allowed, either.

Also, I really, really don't want to make exceptions, so please don't ask for them to be made.

I realize this is difficult, but it's far more difficult to deal with spam and spam registrations from the administrative end.
