I wonder when I will hear from my new guide (or when I will even be assigned one!), or maybe they have my picture on a wall with the words "Warning! Warning!" underneath.

I actually have a useful question for my next guide, whoever he or she may be. I'm sure right around Riviera announcement will be the time to hear.

If in need of a guide referral feel free to PM me. These posts reminded me to call my guide to ask if he knew when we could get any concrete information on point costs or room tours, which he didn't have available yet. Even though I called him for this information, he still asked if he could put me on a list of people to contact when that information became available.

My first contract was for 220 points, figuring I would make that work every year......ha! Joke was on me.....I added on 2 more times within 8 months of that first contract. I am floating way north of that first contract and still wish I had more points. Eventually I will get back to over 2000 points.
This is interesting. Is my math so different from everyone else's because I'm looking for a 2VR every year, or because I'm looking to GO every year?

There's a disease one can catch with DVC - addonitis. Some have good immunity though so good luck!

Oh, I guarantee that I'm not one with immunity! Not only do I have the "collector personality", but I'm the complete opposite of those "you're only in the room to sleep, so who cares??" types. I want to have ROOM to spread out and space for my cr@p (George Carlin, anyone?), which is why 2BR is pretty much our baseline.

With 200 points to start, it's not "if" we'll addon, but "how"!

Wait, how could he say that they were getting lots of complaints? Someone from Disney told another poster that they "ONLY got 24 complaints." And that is why they weren't concerned about 'bad press' over their recent changes.

I'm kind of creeped out by it, quite frankly, and wonder if he was terminated or told to resign rather than left voluntarily. There's a lot of boundary violations and bad assumptions in the email.

My original guide was one of the original DVC guides. She was fantastic, professional, and maintained the same level of contact he did while not cultivating a clique. When she retired, there was a formal note from her in a DVC email announcing my new guide. This is very different and very unprofessional, IMO.

Dirk

Whoa that email is something else. He certainly shares quite a bit of personal information with his clients.

I can't even tell you what my guide's name is any more. We've been members since 2002 and I think we've had 3. Our original one was great, eventually got married, and then left shortly after that. We heard from the next one a few times but since then it's been crickets. We didn't get the "Welcome home!" call on our trip last May either.
