No kidding! Ours did once. We took about 20-25 minutes to get from BCV to MK and I have no idea what way he was taking.

Re: Uber drivers getting lost.

When Uber started being a thing, people were raving about how wonderful it was and how most of the drivers were off duty CMs, etc. (so presumably they know their way around!). Our Lyft driver wasn't a CM and generally did airport runs, he said. I just caught him early (getting to AK for an early open when the bus was slow).

Everybody and their cousin wants easy money, and being a ride share driver can get you some, so I expect the CM pool of drivers is much smaller now.

Still, if were an U/L driver, I would hang out on property and become very familiar with it. It sounds like you would never need to leave and could go from one ride to the next.

We had great experiences with Minnie Vans in April. We did them because of the carseat issue. Service with them are better, that's for sure. We got one in the middle of a torrential down pour and were waiting under an awning. The CM had an umbrella and escorted us to the car. They also have different pick up/drop off areas. I heard that they were better then regular uber/lyft. I'm really curious about the pricing going forward.

For us, the April trip was the first trip we didn't get a car. When we have a rental car, we've gotten lost. There's also the high expense. For us, its more cost effective then a car. Oh, we did rent a car for one day, which worked well and was A LOT less expensive.

I also like that they will take you elsewhere. I have a child with asthma and severe food allergies. It is conceivable we'd need to go to a doctor and that is why we've held onto a car for so many trips. (he'd go in an ambulance for food reaction)

Minnie Vans can pick up near the bus depots at most parks. Uber/Lyft has to pick up at the guest pick-up/drop-off area. That can be more or less convenient depending on the park.

Unfortunately, at AK, a CM told us to go to the pick-up/drop-off area when we should have been sent to the bus depot. Our driver called us to say he was ready. We had to go hoofing over to him. The two locations couldn't have been further apart from each either, but either would have been fine if we had been give the right answer!

True.
Uber pick up at AK is my favorite. To the right of the tram drop off if looking from the parking lot. So convenient.

Agreed. Or the can just follow the GPS which will get you there no issues.

I did have one guy drive right pass the GF entrance and have to turn around. Even though the GPS was directing to turn.
Now this guy had many trips and a great rating. Maybe he just moved to Orlando? But it was strange none the less.

IMO, the reason to use Minnie Vans over regular Uber and Lyft drivers isn't the child seats, it's that the Minnie Vans are clean and the drivers know their way around property. That's worth a few extra bucks, to me.

It was ridiculous!!! Can't even remember the second time we called an Uber, but it was equally as awful!

We've used the Minnie Vans at WDW many times and love them! Drivers are CMs who are friendly and reliable and the SUVs are clean!

Maybe I'm just old or picky or BOTH!!! But I'm not gonna Uber and take my chances on what and who pulls up!
Agree 100%- my Uber and Lyft experiences at disney were bad enough to pay any additional rental car/parking fees for any upcoming trips. We had multiple drivers cancel trips when they saw my walker in 2015. Even though it folds up not much bigger than an umbrella stroller they wouldn’t transport. Thankfully Mears was always available. Minnie vans were excellent but availablilty at peak hours just isn’t there yet. Until than we will either drive our own car down to Florida or rent at the airport.

***disney really needs to either move or enforce Uber/lyft pick up drop off locations especially at Epcot! The ride/share drivers line up to load passengers directly behind the accessible parking and just sit waiting for pick ups. Last 2 trips January and May- couldn’t get into or out of parking space. No matter how politely we asked the other drivers to move we were cursed at told just give 10 minuets or completely ignored.***

New pricing is now in effect. It's $15 PLUS $2.75 per mile.

And that will increase the price for many, maybe most trips that they do I’d think.
