![]() DH is interested in there, to buy. And to rent out all summer and then some. Basically for our snow bird place. After recent FL trip I am hesitant. It is a LONG drive. But owning a condo would allow you to go for 3 months in the winter. Long drive down, stay 3 months and then long drive home.

![]() We stayed there once before a RCCL cruise. It was not bad, but I don’t know that I would want to stay for a long time. Our condo was spacious, but a bit dark. Other rooms may have more natural light. IIRC, the pool was really shaded by trees and the building. The construction felt a little “cheap” to me. Maybe noise would be a factor during busy family-vacation rentals??
It’s right in the hubbub if you like that. We walked to Publix and the outlet malls. Lots of traffic in the area. We would definitely stay there again, if warranted, but it would be in conjunction with another Florida adventure. Not a stand alone stay. Good luck with your decision!!

![]() Can’t say anything about the resort you asking about....BUT, I’d suggest the auto train! Short drive from PA and you spend the night on the train. You arrive in Sanford and then drive to wherever you’re headed. DH and I slept in coach. Decent enough but I think next time we’d stay in a “cabin” room.

![]() Snow Birding to Orlando is my plan. I have not looked hard yet, but have been passively scouting and learning the areas via online. I have no input on that resort, just wanted to wish you luck and let us know how your search goes.

Will keep you posted. I am not sold. I LOVE HHI. But it is compelling when looking at the weather today for here in PA and also HHI and Orlando. You and I will be shoveling snow today while folks at Disney will be strolling around in shorts. But HHI will be brisk...no shorts wearing there in winter.

![]() Can't wait to send pics back home to friends once I start snow birding and its snowing back home! When we do get serious, I think we will be looking in the area behind MK and maybe to the north of MK. All I do know is that I don't want to be along I-4 at all. Once we pay off the house, maybe then we will start looking for a home in the Orlando Area.

This site shows a bunch of communities. I saved it on Floridays but you can play around on it and see some other places.

![]() The best recommendation I’ve seen is to rent a place for the winter and then while you’re there shop around! We have a high schooler so the school was most important to us!
And I’m loving the weather especially today! Had to scramble to get DS21 home from college last night before the storm but glad he’s here and not up there. Still has to take 3 exams before the semester is done. And I do enjoy tormenting my friends who will be shoveling and plowing today and tomorrow. Where we used to live is expecting 18-24 inches. ![]()

![]() We have a friend that rents a place in Mrytle Beach area from Jan thru March every year. That is what I would do in the begining. What will you do about keeping tabs on your house up north?

![]() We are three weeks into our first snowbird season! Loving it… Been to a Disney park every day this past week! Wake up in the morning, have breakfast and then decide where do I feel like going today? Let’s stroll around Epcot or the studios for a few hours. It’s easy to do when we only live 20 minutes away. 😉
As well, there is so much fun, non-Disney stuff to do here that our weekends are filled with exploring all of the small communities in Central Florida. Last night we watched the “Candlelight Processional” , an outdoor musical event featuring the furloughed cast members from Disney’s own candlelight procession, at a local church in Celebration. Donations raised go to supporting the laid off workers. If you are considering a community to buy into with high rent-ability I suggest looking at any of the “Windsor’s” (Palms or Hills). They appear to be really well managed and there are a variety of units ranging from condos, townhouses to single-family homes. You can decorate them however you like and hire your own management company to run them. If you need a really great real estate agent, please PM me. 😊 |
