One of the DVC brokers sends me point rental deals along with their daily property listing. The "expires next month" points are usually just $7 each. As we all know you can usually get a SSR 1BR last minute, which is a pretty nice room.

Worth trying that if you like SSR, even if it just a backup to a cheap Disney Springs room (of which there are many).

Or do they do that?
This man should NOT have been in hotel management.

First the Front Desk tried to shove me off (one of them told me to go to the room and he would call me later. the reason I walked to the front desk is the phones don't work without power, so I wouldn't agree to that idea)

So I said I wanted to see a manager who says "we are full can't you just live with it tonight" (NOTE: I had only asked for maintenance to come fix it, but was told "they are gone for the night" ) I said no, it's Orlando in the summer and it's hot. I am not sleeping with the door open! He then goes over to his computer and I hear him say to one of the desk agents "I hate dealing with guests" ???????? What they heck is he doing in hotel management? !! He also seemed to imply I had somehow managed to "break" the room. (I have no idea how you blow the entire power to a room!) He found me a room near my original room that was empty. so it all worked out (No, they didn't volunteer to come move my luggage etc Customer service was not really on display!)

(Oh and full? Half the rooms near me seemed to be empty!)

Cool. Pop was our plan for our next trip before DVC came through. I figure once the gondolas open it'll be even better - probably more expensive, though.

This! For a last minute adventure, splurge with cheap points (they're up to $8 at the one I get e-mails from). That is, until I read you got a deal you are ok with.

Talking My least expensive reservation..

is mooching off my FIL

FIL Bought in 1993 OKW.

I finally after 10 years felt guilty and bought in my first resale, at OKW... around $65 or $72 / point... (Can't remember exactly).

Best thing we ever did. Many happy memories.

But still I recommend mooching of parents whenever possible, for least expensive lodging.
