We only went once. I found the whole thing awkward. From the person downstairs who welcomes you by saying keep your shoes on. To people just sitting staring into nothing upstairs. And of course the people slumped over dozing.
It was like sitting at the airport waiting for your flight but no flight coming.
Yes, the AC is cool. The space is pretty, it takes 30 seconds to look around.
We didnít need to charge our phone, so what do you do there?
Got a cup of coffee, husband had a Diet Coke. After 5 minutes we were like, now what?
To me a lounge would have a place to buy a cocktail and a bathroom. A futuristic cocktail lounge, or retro future cocktail lounge, might be fun.
I guess Iím glad some people like it so maybe that means less people in line at an attraction.

We were in the lounge a month or so ago on a Saturday.
We were heading to MK which was open till midnight.
I asked the girl at desk if we left our car at epcot how late the monorail would run. She insisted that there was a boat from MK to Epcot that we could take. I asked her where I would catch this boat and she said she didn't know.
If she was confusing it with one to HS, you couldn't take it to the back exit and walk through closed park to get to car.
Not rude, but sadly uninformed.
We have had good experiences there otherwise.

On a plane, fine, but in the lounge?!?!

we always enjoy the lounge and have either had no interaction or pleasant positive ones.

Too ridiculous to be not true. LOL

We have been up there about 7 times. We get a drink and wait for the snack cart, particularly the gummy bears. We are up there with in laws often. The very first time we went up we had to sign in and get a text when there was space for us. Another time or two, we went up and had to stand around to wait for seats to open up. My girls loved it at first and now they are 'meh' about it and don't care to go up. I have noticed the staff aren't super warm and fuzzy.

One time, I admit, I had my slip on sperry's off with my feet resting on top. I was getting blisters and it was hurting so I sat my feet right on top of my shoes. I am a bit of a germaphobe so no way would I have walked around barefoot and would have slipped my shoes back on when I got up. But a CM came over and said I had to have my shoes on while in the lounge. I squeezed my feet back in and then sat there and watched a completely barefoot lady walk around without getting approached by the CM.

Take off your shoes, and stretch out for a nap, apparently!

(based on previous threads here)

And just to add we went last week. Honestly super friendly CMs were there. Snack cart came around and they were quite nice. People were there to try to hide out from rain that threatened but honestly never started.

I might put them one bar below "not warm and fuzzy".
We tend to use this as a rain hide-out. The once per hour snack cart is a bit lame, IMHO, but I guess it is better than no snacks offered, so I won't gripe.

I did have an experience there in May that was unexpected. I was seated at a low round table, charging my phone and nice family joined me. We sat around, chatting; I love how to commonality of being DVC members makes it very easy to meet others in the lounge. Plus, I have a face that just screams "talk to me"; I have complete strangers strike up convos with me all the time for as long as I can remember.

So, the CM eventually came by with the cart, generously offering two items to everyone sitting around me. Like literally threw each person two items when they could not make up their minds. I requested Cheez Its, brought the (tiny) package over to my 7 yr old sitting 50 feet away (playing the Disney Infinity), since he had been waiting for Cheez Its for a full 90 min by that point. I walked back to my seat and asked CM for something for myself and I got a sigh and eyeroll. THEN, when she got over to the game area, she tapped the OTHER kid on the shoulder to offer him something, looked at my kid, looked back and me, and purposely skipped him.

VERY.
WEIRD.

Let me just say that I was the only ethnic person sitting in that little circle of DVCers getting to know each other. Just something to note.
