I did want to comment on crowds this year....they were up.

I always expect Friday and Saturday after TG to be at least a 7/8 out of 10 crowd wise. And it was.

What was unusual was the crowds Through Sunday and Monday. Monday at MK was plain nuts compared to past years. At least 50K and it may have been 60K-65k.

Tuesday slowed down a bit finally.

So, you were in the first building and we were in the second. How funny! Your building has hands down the best walk to DS. We stayed there once when Earl of Sandwich was open for breakfast and always went there instead of Carriage House - closer!

Evidently 1301 had been updated 6 months ago but we had big problems. It smelled like mildew/mold. Finally they cleaned the carpets and I think "masked" the issue but I do not feel it was fixed. I will say staff worked hard to try to fix it.
I think the staff work very hard at SSR. Never had a problem there. Our room didn't smell - just well worn. Clean, but beyond its expire-by date.

Very crowded every day. We were in Epcot on Monday and it was quite active, but not nearly as bad as the previous week. AK on Tuesday was decent, but wait times did soar upward surprisingly fast.

I have been reminded that it's much better to pick up your germs at Disney and get sick once home than the other way around. I have to say - plenty of energy for the trip! (Good thing, too, as we had zero down time.)

Agree on all points. I am hearing some very good rumors that SSR is getting an entire resort refurb next year including "comfy sofa beds". As an owner and loving SSR as I do, this makes me extremely happy.

Following along, looking forward to the rest of your report.
