For owners with more than a few years as owners:
1) would you do it again? Yes, for sure! I love it!
2) would you do it again now? Yes, I would love to buy more. Saving up $$ for resale. I wouldn't buy direct.
3) what frustrates you most about DVC? I wish the studios had king beds

Eat outside the world.
There are other things I want to do outside the resorts
Drive to water parks. Those buses are the worst.
Drive to Springs depending on the hr.
Drive to ressies at resorts
Drive to some parks.

And some do all the above on Uber/Lift.
LOL, no, no, no. (Granted, this post wasn't directed at me ... but I'm reacting: no, no, no!)

It would kill my vacation spirit to have to drive, battle parking, etc. Yuk.

I somewhat agree. We like having our car to drive from resort to resort for ADRs. And we tend to do split stays a lot so having the car for move day is good. We load our bags up in the car, drive to New resort, park and hop on bus to parks or DS. We also dread the whole land at MCO, walk to DME, get in line, wait until bus is completely full, drive slowly, stop at 3-4 resorts and always ours is last or second to last. So driving to WDW in our own car can be nice. But I do like checking luggage at airport and not dealing with it again until you get back to your room that night and it's waiting for you. And when we just drove to WDW, the 9.5 hour trip took 13 hours and that stunk. So it's six or one half dozen....either way is good and bad.

But I hate driving to the parks. Taking tram up. Blech. Yup,that's a vacation killjoy. Though having your car can be good if someone gets sick and needs meds or someone forgets something and a Target run is needed.

1) Yes! Been a member since 97
2) Yes! May do a add on before increase. All my contracts were direct
3) Gone are the days you can book 4-6 months out with no problem

If it makes any difference in your answers, my choice for home resort would be GF or BC.

Thanks for your comments!
1) Absolutely. Have been doing it many times over.
2) No, I think both the direct and resale have gone too high.
3) Lack of availability at certain high demand periods.

Yes I would do it again. We bought resale.
Yes I would do it again even with the restrictions.
What’s Frustrating? Disney seems to be holding back more and more rooms for cash reservations.

Talking Maybe not rental cars

Rental cars may not be good for me because i fly for long weekends a lot to get out of chicago winter weather., and that adds up costs quickly.

But i think using lyft / uber maybe the way for us.
And minnie mouse when we want to go to jikos (favorite of ours)

Also im kinda in limbo now with points. I have too many, but close friend will be most likely having disney wedding in 2-3 years, and eventually grand kids will come ....

So im scared to Downsize.
I know it would be really hard for me to get back in again once i sell.

But i finally got a consulting job, so hoping i can start going again.

It was hard staying back for xmas. I love the decorations.

I wonder about this too. Our trip in Oct, I noticed a bunch of conference folks using DVC.

I also think rooms are taken out of commission due to renovation. It was BWV for like 2+ years, then BCV and now it's OKW with SSR upcoming. We bought DVC in 2006 and for like the first 4 years it seemed there were no renovations happening....until the 2010 at OKW. So maybe that's part of the availability issue.
