Default Photo ID being required for AP entry

This news blast is suggesting that AP holders are being asked for photo id. Anyone there and experiencing this? Much speculation will follow, I am sure, as to what this is about, but I truly hope that this is a short-term issue due to a system failure and not a long-term plan!

Default Showing drivers license before entering resorts

This trip I was asked to show a drivers license or picture ID before entering Boardwalk. Last year I think I just had my magic band swiped. Is this a new procedure .

I also over near a family complaining bitterly at beaches and cream that they had to park at the studios and walk over . Is that also the new procedure?

I understand why. There is not that much guest parking at Boardwalk and apparently they are loosing 100 more spaces . I can see why they are cutting back in letting non resort guest to park there.

I wonder if MK resorts are also asking dinner guests to park at tct . Will the Restaurent validate the parking?

I am fairly certain that I have always had to show ID the first time that we entered a resort at the start of the reservation. Multiple times for sure

if you are greeted by a gate guard they normally ask. Even in Uber or Lyft.
If you enter through automatic gate, you can tap and go but there are instances they Guard that 1 as well. The auto gate you need to be staying at the resort to access.
And there’s always valet parking for those visiting.

No validation I know of since DVC perk went away. Not sure if TIW still offers parking. I believe the SD restaurants will validate if you dine with them.

They've asked to see ID's for years when you drive up to the gate. Once you had your Key to the World card or now MB then you can use the electronic gate.

However this action has always just left me shaking my head. Yes, I'm proving I have a drivers license or photo id that has my picture on it.

Regarding parking at BWV or BC - it can be hit or miss and also has been that way for a long time. If you have a Beaches and Cream reservation though then parking should be allowed at BC. I don't believe it would be allowed at BWV based on that though.

I've shown ID as well for quite a while the first time we checked in as well.

As for parking, it always depends on how busy they are. I always keep in mind if not staying there, that if I want to drive, I might have to pay for valet.

This is a PRIME example of "security theatre"

What exactly does this prove besides you have a driver's license???

(As for parking lately BW and BC have pretty much said "no" unless you have a hotel or dining reservation. Can't say I blame them If the family had a reservation I am kind of surprised they were told no)
