I'm guessing the ground floor rooms have a patio instead of a balcony? (similar to other ground floor rooms at other DVC resorts).

Kmermaid--I walked around the Riviera grounds back in February and it seemed like a straightforward walk through CBR to the SKyliner hub. It's also a nice option to go there for HS so you don't have to transfer gondolas.
Yes, I saw patios with two chairs and a side table outside the ground floor rooms when I was there last week.

Have heard that the lines build in the morning with the lines from POP and RIV coming to the CBR station.
I got to stay there before the resort was officially open so there were no buses running to the resort yet. Magic Kingdom Park closed at midnight so I had to get creative as I missed the time frame for the Minnie Vans. I took a bus from MK to CBR and then walked back to my room at Riviera. I thought it was a pretty easy walk and very nice at that time of night. I would imagine the walk from the Disney Skyliner would be just as easy.
