I have been pining for a cruise to Bermuda. The DH just can't get into it.

Aruba's quite nice, too. In addition to the Caribbean nature of it, some primo restaurants that we've been to a couple of times.

Cheers.

Our family loves Marriott Ocean Pointe in Palm Beach Shores, Fl. Great resort right on the Ocean. Lots of activities including a miniature golf course, horseshoes, pool, pingpong, baci ball. Great Tiki Bar.

I would consider some of the locations and travel choices offered through the Vacations by Disney . Their adventures are usually First Class but expensive.
Maybe just use the brochure travel spots as a guide to structure travel plans.

Cruise is a great way to see Bermuda as most cruises spend 2-3 nights in port.

The Magic now just does 5 nights - 2 there, 1 at Bermuda, and 2 back. Lots of sea days, but not really enough time in Bermuda.

We were on the one 6 night they did in their first Bermuda season - got in at 10 am, did an island tour that afternoon, did the island on our own the next full day with no worries about timing, and then did a couple of things near the port on our departure day since we left at 3 pm.

The island transportation is so reliable, and you can by transport passes, so it's almost like getting around WDW without a car. You can also hire your own driver for a tour.

Celebrity and Royal Caribbean both do extended cruises to Bermuda - could be worth looking at them.

Aruba's becoming a hot place for several of my parishioners. I'll have to put it on the last for a warm escape!

You know, that's not a bad idea. Sort of a "steal their itinerary and do it on your own" kind of thing.

Just a look at a map (or Google Earth) explains why. There is nothing else in the way of land within 600 miles. If you're going to go there and back, you may as well spend a little time.
