Question DCL 125% credit

Hi Had an email from DCL stating that our Alaskan cruise departing July 6th has been cancelled. Used mainly points for booking the cruise but also cash ($2000) , Disney has offered 125% cruise credit or a full refund. Used the points from last use year so now have enough points to use for the cruise. Just trying to work out the best way to proceed, anyone else in the same predicament?

Similar, but not same.

We had a cruise cancelled that we used discounted gift cards and some credit card (cash). We had paid regular price for the cruise through Costco with the cash card.

Now, we took the 125% to apply towards future cruise and removed Costco as our travel agent because I became one recently. What's cool is that that they are letting us use our TA discount and the 125%, so the new cruise will end up being much cheaper than our credit and they will apply the extra to our shipboard credit.....going to have a lot of drink of the days!

If an airline we fly frequently enough offered this in lieu of a refund, I'd jump on it. In that case, it's pure cash for us. AA used to have CostCo GCs at $70 for $100. We bought a bunch and saved quite a lot.

Same with some Live Nation shows that will offer 150% credit. So far, we haven't had any Live nation venues yet (required for this), so just refunds. We do have one that should be eligible for refund/credit soon.

I took the 125% RCCL offer rather than refund.

I had two DCL cruises booked, one Bahamas, one Northern Europe. I'm sure I will someday cruise DCL again, but I have no plans and just don't know when/where, so I took the refund.

Big mistake -- now I have too much money.

We took the refund. We so badly wanted to book something else but just didn't know when the "right" time was. Having done the dance for two months around our cruise of cancelling, we wanted to have the cash and decide when we felt comfortable versus being locked in. We also felt like the cash on hand should job situations change was more prudent. But man did we spend weeks debating it.

Nice. When DCL canceled our Med cruise a few years back, they changed the itinerary to an Italy only cruise and only offered $1K.
