Things (perks/guarantees) I don't want to lose...

Ability to book at ALL legacy resorts.
DVC AP pricing.
Making FP+ ahead of people not staying on site.
Epcot member lounge. And TOTWL.

In that order.

It's actually that you have a 1 month home priority window. The 11 months could change but I think most just mean having home resort priority and that is not just perk but is guaranteed - at least for the existing resorts. I don't think that's changing for Riviera though either -it would be a tough sell if it wasn't also guaranteed there.

The real issue for me is not knowing what is a perk and what isnít. I thought that I knew. Apparently I didnít.

The 11 month and 7 month windows should not be perks. I thought that they were guaranteed.

Perks, I have always thought, were things like discounts, parties, and special privileges here and there.

Guarantees were the booking windows, banking and borrowing, and points remaining constant at a resort.

The inability for resales to book at Riviera, a Club resort, is a violation of what I had believed were the guarantees of the 7 month window.

The lockoff premium is a violation of the points remaining constant rule, that I had believed was guaranteed.

For the time being, banking and borrowing seems untouched.

I had always understood that perks could be taken away. I hadnít realized that they could take away things that I had thought were guarantees and not perks.

I use the AP discount the most. I realize perks come and go though, but I like that out of all we get.

I don't really have any perks, so I suppose that I could live without all of them.

I suppose you could count trading into RCI as a perk, but I never plan on using that. Dont' we have the option of borrowing DVDs at the community hall? I can't see watching a movie on vacation, either. Pool Hopping? I won't say never but I don't really plan on it.

I do enjoy TOTWL, so I guess that's my one that I don't want to lose.

What is the regular price and the dvc price? Does it vary year to year?

It's the FL resident rates for Gold on up. Changes yearly, but it's a saver for me especially since the gold works for us.

I dunno. We like the WDW AP discounts but rarely use them. While we have APs right now ... I think this is only the second time we've used this particular perk. We'd far rather a deeper discount on DLR passes. Sigh.

What we bought for:
  • Kitchen
  • Laundry
  • Jetted Tub (becoming a lost item over the years and renovations??)
  • 1BR space
Take these away and we walk. I think?? I know, these aren't perks. But they are the driving forces behind our purchase.
