A look at my avatar should give you the idea on how we feel about Coco.

To me, it might be the best Pixar movie. It's certainly in the top 3 or 5. But I'm also in a minority that thinks the real popular Pixar movies are junk. Toy Story 1, 2, & 4 - meh. Incredibles 1 or 2 - completely uninteresting. Cars, especially 2 and 3 - snooze. I guess I like the movies that have the depth that the most popular ones don't. WALL-E, Inside Out, Coco, Up!, Brave - those are the true Pixar gems to me. Throw in Toy Story 3, Finding Nemo, and Monsters Inc. too. A Bug's Life is pretty underrated too.

I'm a little uncomfortable with this. As mentioned in the article, it seems as if Disney is going away from the cultural aspect of the countries and "Disney-fying" the Epcot countries. However, I'll admit that the "Beauty and the Beast" music that I heard on youtube from France seems in keeping with the France "vibe".

That was some seriously good music in that movie. Underrated and unknown by too many.

I know IPs are flooding Epcot. So I'm now only slightly twitchy vs being visibly annoyed now. I liked Coco and the music was nice. Not quite my cup of tea but decent. I imagine Coco was harder to relate to for some so maybe that's why it wasn't as popular.

I can guarantee you that if the music from Coco is playing in the background when my grandsons are there in April, there will be some serious singing going down!

Personally, I do not mine the IP enhancements. We go to Disney for Disney stuff. If I wanted true French culture and music, I would go to France (might be cheaper too). The push for IP is giving us a better Epcot then what we have had since I have been a DVC member. The Theme Park has actually become quite stale over time.

I think as someone who has been going the summer before Epcot opened and had first glimpse from the monorail before it was ready to open, it's been harder to swallow the IPs in Epcot. I was a kid and it left impressions on me. It was my childhood. The changes really started as I was taking my own kid and it's been tough I admit. I cannot change it so I will roll with it.

As for Coco, it's just not my style as much. We're into caribbean Latin music and not so much Mexican style. It's cute and I am so glad that it has reached so many people. The story at least. I hope that Disney will continue to use their powers to help bring more culture and such compared to when they first started.

Disney is always going to be adding IP's. I just wish they spent more effort on the Disney Animation Studios' IP's and not just all Pixar all the time.

At least they haven't (as far as I know) incorporated any of the live-action-remake stuff in the parks. I know those movies sell $billions in tickets, but they make me want to poke out my eyes.

actually I wish they would update Jasmine's costume to resemble it. Same with Aladdin's.

Disney might have been unintentionally brilliant by making it just OK.

By being "just ok" -- HarmoniUS (assuming it is good), will seem even better...and there will be less bitching and moaning about losing Illuminations.

Just hearing the music makes me cry. Apple had a commercial that used it and the idea of grandma dying. I bawled every time it was on.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDeRyyDrS40 This is the full short film version. I thought the 30 second tv spot was actually more powerful because it was framed only around grandma's death. But you get the idea.
